Stefano Manfredi migrated to Australia from Italy as a child with his family. Since the early 1980s, Steve has opened and operated several restaurants in Sydney and has co-authored popular food titles including Fresh from Italy and Bel Mondo, and is the sole author of Seasonal. He developed and continues to manage the successful coffee brand Espresso di Manfredi by Piazza d'Oro. In 2007, Steve opened the much-praised modern Italian restaurant Bells at Killcare, which was awarded a chef's hat in the prestigious The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide.
