This comprehensive guide opens up a whole new world of possibilities to help you choose the best place to live. In today's tight housing market, home-buyers are more conscious than ever of value for money when it comes to one of the biggest decisions they will ever make.
Why spend a fortune on a tiny house in a fashionable suburb when you could find an affordable gem in a suburb just around the corner?
A team of experts brings you information on schools, parks, transport and other desirable features, supported by data from Australian Property Monitors on what it costs to rent and buy in every Sydney suburb. This book is an indispensable tool for anyone who wants to invest or simply make the most out of living in Sydney.

Balmain
The working-class brawn has long gone from this dockside suburb, which is famous for staging the first meeting of the Australian Labour Party at the Unity Hall Hotel back in 1891. The cultural imperialists have laid claim to this peninsula suburb in a way that only Saab-driving proletarians can. Most of the cute workers' cottages have evolved into bijou renovated pads with the obligatory bi-fold doors opening to courtyards. The larger free-standing houses are confined to the better streets such as White and Glassop. Agents report this is a suburb that people rarely move out of, preferring instead to upgrade to a bigger house as finances allow.
